Stitches!

Our baby Cali Jean had to get stitches..
She has had a ROUGH day today, let me tell you..
After class I took her to the doggy park to get all her energy out,
It was just her and two other dogs there and they weren't really playing with each other that much.
Cali kept to herself most of the time..untill she decided to bolt off running!
And as she took off so did another and they collided into each other!
At first I thought it was funny because she always runs into things..
doors, walls, counters, people...everything!
but today she got really hurt and busted her eye on the other dogs collar!
She had about a two inch cut on the corner of her eye, and it was seriously pretty deep.
I called one of my friends who used to work at a vet and she said to take her to the vet!
So I called the vet and they said to bring her right in just in case.
Well turns out she had to be sedated and got 3 stitches on her eye..
My poor baby she was in so much pain, she just sat next to me and cuddled while we waited for the vet.
She was so helpless!
Now she is doing much better..when we first got her home she was still woosy and really clumsy.
She did eat and drink a little bit and has been napping all evening!
Ahhh the joys of dog mommy hood haha!

Great Newwws!

I have two very exciting things to announce today!
First I won the give- a-way @ Lovely Yellow Ribbons
I am sooo excited about it, I love all of her stuff and have been dying for one of her prints!
Seriously, go check her out:)

Secondly, I for sure have a job this summer!
...as a lifeguard!
I have been lifeguarding since I was 15 and absolutely love it!
I had seen posters around post and my hubby brought one home last week.
I finally called today and the guy was awesome!
I get to start my training early....next week!
and I get to do it all for free!!
I am even going to get recertified as a WSI so I can teach kids how to swim.
I know this might sound cheesy but lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons is what makes summer, summer for me! I have been swimming since I was 4 years old and I absolutely love the water!
And to top it all off, I'll be getting paid at least 10 dollars an hour!!
I thought I would be getting minimum wage so I was totally shocked!
I cannot wait to start training and working with all the lil kids!
This totally made my day, and will make my hubby's day since he won't have to pay for my forever 21 shopping trips anymore!! Yayy!

I was nicknamed mama duck!

I am back!

I had a wonderful surprise trip to CA! This past Tues was my mom's birthday, and I flew in to surprise her at her surprise bday party on Saturday!! My dad and I had been planning it since January, and I had to keep it a secret all this time! It was so hard because I am the worst at keeping secrets like this!

My mom and I talk all the time, and the day before I left she called a million times! Each one I kept getting closer to telling her..even my hubby almost let it slip that I was coming on the next day!! The plane ride there seemed like forever because I was so excited..at each delay I would text my dad and sister asking if my mom knew what was going on. My dad had to play sick so that he could set up for the party while my mom was away shopping and getting pedicures!

The craziest thing was though, was that we ALMOST got caught!! My aunt and uncle picked me up from the SD airport, and when we got into town we had to make a quick stop at vons for drinks. Well turns out my  mom and her friend were in vons at starbucks at the same time we were! When we were leaving an old friend of mine told us my mom was in the store!Luckily we were on different sides of the store or we would have been caught!! As we were pulling away I saw her and her friend walking out and my aunt made me duck! I couldn't believe she didn't see us!

The surprise party was awesome! My dad did such a great job at preparing everything. When she walked in she was brought to tears..I was hidden behind a chair and when I finally got up she didn't realize it was me and kept going around giving hugs..when she looked back though she screamed and started crying more! It was such a special moment!! I will post pictures later!

Besides the surprise party I had a great stay at home. It was very relaxing and I was able to spend a lot of time with my brother in sister! I sure am glad to be back in NC though..I missed my Cali Jean and my hubby soo soo much!

Warning:!!

So just a lil heads up...pms and I are not good friends. Pms takes advantage of my sweet, innocent self, and turns me into a monster.

Which is probably why I am so aggrivated right now. Have any of you noticed that the media just totally promotes cheating, divorce, etc. It's like I cannot get a way from it at all! I wake up in the morning and listen to my favorite talk show, and the people calling in are 9/10 times likely to be divorced..some on their 2nd or 3rd marriage! Then when I come home from school, I turn the television on and instantly see people cheating on their significant others and it just makes me sick!  It's even in songs!! " I'm ready to sign them papers" ugggh it's just so annoying.

Here I am trying to live a happy marraige, and I'm surrounded by people who are cheating and getting divorces. I know there are cases where divorce is necessary but it just seems like people are getting married just because and then disposing of it like it is trash. For instance, the military base I am living on now is known for having one of the worst divorce rates. Men and women talk about cheating like it's nothing, and aren't ashamed about it at all! I question my husband all the time..how can he respect his superiors when he knows they've cheated on their wives.. I would have such a hard time with that!...probably why I am not in the army haha. But anyways, what I'm saying is I wish that marraige hadn't turned into such a disposable thing. I cherish my marraige with everything in my body, and would not for one second ever think of cheating on my husband. Thankfully, we have parents to look up to who have healthy, long lasting marraiges.. and also there are quite a few bloggers that inspire me because their marraiges are so beautiful. It is success stories I want to hear about not disgusting people who are cheating on their spouses. Sorry if this offends anyone but it's the truth, well in my opinion it is!

On a more positive note, I got an A on my Bio Exam....way better than my last score! A days of studying paid off and I am so proud:)

Too Faced

If you don't know so already, Too Faced is a cosmetics line that I have so fallen in love with. I have only tried one of their products, but was sold with just one try. I thought I'd share it with everyone since I love it that much! It is the Natural Eye Pallette.
When I first got into make-up I went wild with Mac eye shadows. I would buy bright blues, greens, and all the crazy colors. Now I am into the more natural look, and with this little box I have found everything in one!It comes with little instructional aids, but I ditched those and mix and match! All of the colors blend easily and are so pretty! I would recommend it to anyone going for the more natural look.

Too Faced even has the Smoky Eye kit, which I am eager to try! I love make-up and wish I was able to buy more of it because I love trying new things and feeling pretty!

Do any of you have any make-up products that are to die for? If so I would love to hear about them!

I cannot wait to see him at his graduation!
This weekend went by super fast, and was full of fun, sickness, and studying!
I had fun at girls night, yet everyone except me had tummy aches after dinner:(
Then the next night at Katie's bday I was the one with the tummy ache..
NO fun at all:(
But I still had a blast celebrating her birthday!
Today I took Cali Jean to the doggy park again.
We met up with Katie and Meredith and their pups.
A puppy reunion! I loved watching them run wild!
The rest of the day was spent studying..huge Bio exam tomorrow so wish me luck!
Have a great night everyone, and hope you have an awesome Monday!

TGIF♥

I was SO ready for this weekend as soon as my alarm went off this morning. Usually it takes me awhile to get up, but I sprung right out of bed, ready to take on this day!

I had class in the morning. History and Bio. Two of the classes I HATED in highschool and now I'm starting to love. My History Professor is amazing. He's a total rocker(which I love) and puts a fresh spin on old facts. I could listen to him for hours. Bio is slowly starting to grow on me. Maybe it's because everything is finally starting to click, and my professor relates everything to our every day lives. I am even excited for the exam on Monday!

Tonight is GIRLS night. Oooh how I love my girls nights! We are going  to go eat at a lil Mexican restauraunt and then come back to my apartment and make margaritas. Yuuummy! Mexican food and the culture is pretty much a huge part of my life. The town I grew up in is predominatley Hispanic, and on every corner there is a Mexican restaurant to eat at. We are thirty minutes from the Mexican border so my hubby's family would always take us to eat at some authentic mexican restaurants!
We love our Cheladas!
Us and my Brother/Sister in law!

Us and his cousin Guero!
mmm shrimp cocktail!

Even though this weekend will be full of fun, I can't wait to get it over with so that I can get my man back! ahh six more days and I will see my hubby! I got to talk to him last night and he told me a funny story about his day....He was doing land navigation out in the wilderness somewhere and came upon "marshy" terrain. What he didn't realize was that he was walking into a stream..and before he knew it he was waist deep in water. The poor thing had to tread out of the water and freeze the rest of the time. And to make it even worse, it was snowing yesterday morning. I felt super bad for my hubby but couldn't help but laugh. Things like that never happen to him..NEVER! And he isn't the biggest fan of large bodies of water so I just thought it was hysterical....after I made sure he was okay of course. Anyways, don't tell him I told you this:)

I want it Wednesday!

I love, love, looooove this dress from Victoria's Secret!
The pattern is so cute, in fact I have a bandeau bikini in this pattern, or something similar!
I am going to convince the hubby to buy me this summer dress..since our taxes diid just come in:)
He can never resist my cute puppy face!

Today was a great day!
Yesterday I wasn't feeling to swell so I relaxed and slept most of the evening.
I only had a short time at school today so that was great..
I went to the gym and am now stuck in the middle of a ton of homework..
the sound of rain does sound nice though..
although it's supposed to snow and I do not want it to snow again.
uggh!

What a Monday..

I hate Monday's but love how today went by sooo fast! I had class till noon..then I was able to come home, catch up on some homework, and be lazy! I even took a nap! I never take naps! After napping my afternoon away I woke up extremely energized and headed to the gym. I am on a role with this gym thing..mission "get fit" before hubby comes home! I've gone everyday since he's been gone and I love it now! I used to dread going to work out..and my hubby would always beg me so he'd have company. Now he'll be so proud that his wifey is willing to work up a sweat!

After the gym I had a volleyball scrimage! I am playing on a league for all wifes/ dependents of the military. My team met up with three other teams and had a blast playing some quick pick up games. The team I'm on gets along so well, and we're constantly laughing and joking around. Not everyone has played before so we just don't take it to seriously. Plus it's just an Army league, we aren't going to nationals or anything! So you think the other teams would be having fun too..right? NO! they were yelling at one another when a ball was dropped, rolling eyes, and one of the girls even sat out because she was so upset. It totally ruins the fun of the game when you start to get attitudes like that! That is why I'm so happy my team is full of fun loving girls who just want to have fun.

Well anyways, I got to talk to my hubby tonight..we're almost one week down..yet it seems like months..oh well I have lots to keep me busy this week! Hope you all had a happy Monday!

Midnight cravings..

I always end up with cravings for chocolate during the night..

So what does that lead to???
A SONIC BLAST!
mmmm..my favorite.
And luckily I had a wonderful friend who wanted to come a long and we sat in our car, ate, and chatted it up!
a nice way to end the night.

Some of you were asking how Claying around went..
It was soooo much fun!
Three of us didn't finish putting all our coats of paint on,
so we'll have to go back again!
but until then, this is what my vase looks like...
sorry for the horrible picture,
it says believe around the top portion..
the colors won't look anything like this once it has been glazed and fired..
I'm really excited to add more details to it and see the end results!
The shop we were at was very cute, and there were so many creative designs hanging around.
The ladys that worked there were helpful and really nice.
It was a great atmosphere and a great girls day out!
I will post a picture of my finished vase soon!

I love mornings like these...

I woke up early and made my favorite...beef stew! I make it in the crock pot so the whole house just smells amazing! mmm I can't wait to eat it! Then I hit up the gym for a nice morning workout. I've been going to the gym everyday this week and I feel so much more energized, and with each time I go I find I can last longer on the treadmill, or do more reps! After the gym I came home and made chocolate chip pancakes! Yuuuummy! Then, being the nice doggy mommy that I am, I took Cali Jean to the dog park..the joys of parenthood! I love watching her run around with other dogs, she's such a goofball and cracks me up the whole time. All of this before 12.p.m! Loves it!

I have a girls day planned today. We are going to this place called Just Claying Around. We can pick pottery and paint it, then they fire it for free so the paint will stay. I've never been to a pottery place before, so I'm very excited. I love artsy stuff but am not the most creative person. It'll be nice to hang out with the girls and hopefully make some fun things to put around the house!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

new haiiir!

I finally went to the salon and got my hair done! I had gotten it trimmed here and there because I was trying so hard to grow it out. Unfortunately that was impossible with how badly my hair has been treated these 18 years. Number 1 I have been swimming for 15 years and chlorine is horrible on hair. Every summer my hair will turn a shade of blonde and get all crispy. Totally unmanageable. Then on top of that I highlight, box dye, and straighten my hair often so my hair was in pretty bad shape. I had pieces that were just broken in half, and all my ends were super dead. So instead getting my hair highlighted like this...

I ended up having to cut off a good 3/4 inches, and going back to my natural color..hopefully with my new at home treatment and my new shampoo/conditioner my hair will be on the road to recovery and I'll be able to go light just in time for summer. I am on mission hair recovery:)

Thank goodness for glucose!

Today has been a very crazy day...of course I started off with my number one blonde moment.. I always forget to shut the gas lid on my car! So I drive around like a goober with my gas lid open for like ever until someone honks and points! I don't know what my problem is but I always forget to shut it!
Then during class my mom called me so I knew it was urgent since she never calls when I'm in school. I ended up getting the worst voicemail I could have hoped for.. My grandpa had just been rushed to the hospital in an ambulence after collapsing at home. We automatically thought it was his heart, but then once he was at the hospital he kept slurring his words and couldn't control his body from moving so we thought it was a stroke. The nurses/drs weren't in the room when his body started moving uncontrollably so my father finally went and got them because he knew something was wrong. They ended up taking his blood pressure and it was at freakin 30!! I mean come on now, they knew he was diabetic so why wasn't that checked before?! They instantly realized he was in diabetic shock and gave him glucose..about 5 minutes later he could talk and was back to his old self.

I'm so glad he's okay but that just aggrivated me that they didn't check that before..If not treated promptly insulin shock could lead to death..ahhh that just makes me want to get my nursing credentials already and get in there.

Well after that stressful event I went to the gym and got it all out..took a bubble bath and am now cuddled in my hubby's sweatshirt:) smells just like him and makes me feel so much better!

Please keep my grandpa in your prayers, he's been having so much trouble with his heart, and now this. I can't hope enough that he will recover and be back to his old self..

Already Miss Him...

At 3 a.m this morning I had to drop my hubby off at training. It's only been 9 hours and I already miss him so much..I am allowing myself one day of moping around..and that is it! I guess good-bye's are what hurts the most. Of course, being the big baby that I am I cried my eyes out when he kissed me goodbye. I always feel bad about crying because I don't want to make it any harder on him then it already is but I just can't help it! I'm a very emotional person haha. He will only be gone for a few weeks, so the time will go by so fast. We've gone through a 15 month deployment, so I know a few weeks will be a piece of cake. But like I always say, it's hard to say goodbye to someone you love so much and know you won't see them for a certain amount of time.

The one thing I am happy about is that at least our relationship is strong enough that we can be away from each other and things not change. Also I will be able to shop as much as I want to...retail therapy always works for me!
I love him♥

Love is in the Air♥

In honor of Valentine's Day, I figured I would blog about my hubby and I's love story. Just last night we were talking about how far we'd come, how we've changed, and just how amazing it is that we are finally married.

As some of you may know, my hubby and I met when we were in highschool. Going back to those days, I would have never thought 5 years later we'd be married. We met when I was a freshman, and my hubby was a junior. We met then talked online for about a week before he asked me to be his girlfriend. I was basically floating on cloud nine because not many freshman had upperclassmen boyfriends, especially as handsome as mine! We were together all throughout the end of the school year, and right before summer....he broke up with me!! We were laying on the floor in my bedroom when he did it. I remember instead of storming off and being mad, I bawled my eyes out and clung to him. Must have been an awkward moment for a boy who was trying to get away!
 Us way back when:)

After that aweful evening, we were on and off for the remainder of his highschool career. He was always the one guy I could go to with anything and he'd be there for me. I guess at the time we just weren't meant to work out, we were meant to go out and explore before settling down. Well after my hubby graduated we started getting very serious again. I helped him through all his struggles with his parents, and choosing what to do with his life. We got into a fight though, which made us slowly grow apart. And then way sooner then I would have wished for, he left for the Army. We didn't get a good-bye...he was just gone. I was devasted, I knew deep down I was in love with him, but we'd been through so much hardships I just couldn't see it working out now that he was gone!

After awhile I got another boyfriend, I guess just to cope with the fact that my (future) hubby had left. Everything was going great until one day I received a letter in the mail. It was from my hubby. I had a surge of emotions sweep over me..happy,scared,nervous.  I stared at it forever until I finally got the nerve to open the three page letter. Besides telling me his day to day duties at basic training he completely spilled his heart out to me. He wanted to go back to how we were his junior year, that I was the only girl that truely unerstood him and was there for him. I was brought to tears and didn't know what to do. At the time I didn't think we would be able to make it..but my heart told me we would. I stuck with my brain though and wrote him back that I had a bf and was happy.

After basic he came home for two weeks. We ended up meeting up and ever since that day we started talking on a day to day basis. While my then bf was at the desert I would meet up with R*(my hubby) and go to dinner( I know, I know, bad girl right?) We were inseperable and knew we just had to give it a shot. I soon broke up with my boyfriend and decided to give R a shot. I couldn't control my emotions whenever he left to airborne school. But he did manage to call/text me all day everyday and we made our relationship grow that way.
During one of his R&R's♥

In over that two years that we were together, we saw each other maybe 4 months. R* was on the east and I was still living on the west coast. Then he deployed for 15 months which was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. Yet we still made it, and will be spending our FIRST Valentine's day together. I'll have him in my arms on V-day this year, not 5,407 miles away! No one thought we would make it, but we sure did prove them wrong. We know we can beat the odds, and are so happy to finally be married.

Army Wives&Friendship..

I think all Army Wives will agree that finding good friends is definitly a challenge. With moving to different duty stations it can be really frustrating having to reestablish yourself, let alone make a new group of friends. I have been very blessed to find great friends here on the East Coast. Don't get me wrong, I miss my loves back in CA but no one will understand you more than another Army Wife.
When my hubby(fiance at the time) first left for his fifteen month deployment I did not have anyone to fall back on during rough times. My friends were great, always there for a shoulder to cry on, but at the same time I'm sure they thought I was crazy staying with a guy who made me cry every other day. They didn't understand what he was going through, nor how much we loved each other. Gradually I relied more on my parents to get me through everything. They were my rock and I love them so much for being so understanding, and holding me all through the night when I missed my hubby.
About half way into the deployment, my hubby started talking about one of his friend's girl friends. I couldn't believe that there was another girl going through the same day to day heart ache as me! I was quick to find her on Myspace and couldn't believe how similar we were. At first we didn't hit it off like I thought we would. We just sent quick messages to each other..just getting to know each other type of question. It soon turned into a bond that could withstand anything. Quick messages turned into long chats, phonecalls and daily text messages. It was so easy to talk to her because we were going through the exact same thing at the exact same time. We could call each other in the middle of the night, and know the other one would understand exactly what we were feeling.
When our boy's homecoming came along, we were so excited to finally meet. I remember texting her hours before green ramp, both of us so excited to meet and that those 15 months of heartache were over. Once our boys were home I honestly thought we would drift our seperate ways. But it turned out to be so much more than that. We still call each other in the middle of the night bawling our eyes out, knowing the other will know exactly what to say to make it better somehow. Even though we don't get to talk as often as we would like, I always know that she will be someone I can fall back on and trust with all of my heart. The Army might not be on the top of my favs list, but it has brought me a great friendship that will withstand the test of time, no matter the distance or time spent away.
If it weren't for Ashley, and all the other wonderful Army Wifes that I have met, I wouldn't be as strong as I am today. No one will understand what it's like to have your husband torn away from you at a moment's notice like another Army Wife will. No one will understand what it feels like to sit for hours on the computer and wait for your husband to get online, or understand why you have to have your phone attatched to your hip like another Army Wife will.
So thank you to all the wonderful wives that have been there for me, and even to those who I have not met. We all are apart of something that bonds us together.

Weekend Recap..

I feel like I've had a four day weekend. The hubby was off on Thurs/Fri this week so I basically went through the motions of school then forgot about homework as soon as I got home just so I could hang out with him! On Thursday we tried out a new restaurant, The Oyster Bar! It was SOOO yummy. The food was amazing and I actually tried oysters. I don't know how anyone could have a liking for oysters, they are slimy and taste so funny!! Friday night we went to a going away party for one of our friends who is heading to Germany. It was a blast and it was fun to see all our friends and just hang out!
My friend K* and I♥

Today  two of my girlfriend's and I decided to have our own super bowl party! Since all our hubby's are working we went and got stuff to grill and even made my favorite velvet cake balls! We grilled burgers, hotdogs, and even made some pasta salad that was soo delicious! All our hubbys and their friends stopped by and grabbed a plate. Since I am not the biggest football fan, it was nice to just be girls and cook/bake..instead of huddled around a T.V. with a bunch of guys drinking beer! Our puppy Cali enjoyed playing in a yard and is now passed out next to me on the couch..so adorable!

My Bring Me Sun Sunday Item would be this frilly bikini by Roxy. I can totally see myself laying out on the beach with this girly bikini, and am in love with the colors!

Bring me Sun Sundays..

Since all I think about is how badly I wish it was summer, I thought this would be fitting to do every Sunday! I am on a continuous hunt for the perfect bikinis for summer, so every Sunday I will post my bikini of the week! Hopefully summer will come quicker if I have a small piece of it to look forward to every Sunday:)

This Sunday's pick...Boho Beach by Raisins...SO cute! I am def. buying this one:)

Anyways...the Grammys were awesome! Lady Antebellum, who happen to be my favorte band EVER, performed my favorite song! Their new album,Need You Now, is a must buy! Taylor Swift's performance with Stevie Nicks was one of my favorites..but Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles topped them all! I got goose bumps!!

Since there is a threat of black ice tomorrow I am not risking my life or others on the road to school tomorrow! I can barely walk on the ice outside our apartment, I honestly don't trust myself on the road! So it looks like another day inside with Cali, I am literally going crazy. We have listened to Lady Antebellum's new cd about a million times, and have seen every episode of the Bad Girls Club! But on a positive note I finally finished the novel The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I loved it and I did not want to finish it! Although I am the worst person at summarizing I will give a short recap. The Help is set back in the times of segregation. It intwines three women's point of view throughout the book, Aibleen,Minny, and Ms. Skeeter. Aibileen and Minny happen to be African American "servants", who are constantly mistreated by their white employers. Ms. Skeeter is from a white family, she graduated from college and moved back in with her parents. Her circle of friends have the typical attitude of the time, believing in equal but seperate accomidations for whites and blacks. Ms. Skeeter on the other hand begins to realize that this isn't who she was, and did not agree with how her friends behaved towards their black maids. Remembering her own childhood maid, Skeeter remebers all the good times she had with Constantine and how she became family. Skeeter, being a writer, wanted to write about the good and bad stories the black maids of Jackson, Mississippi. The novel goes on to tell of their struggle to publish a book that would raise quite a few questions in their town. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read. Being that it was just recently Martin Luther King Jr. day, the book was a perfect way to reflect on the past and how America has changed for the better..

Great start to the weekend..

Yayy for the weekend! My hubby finally had a day off this week yesterday! It was so nice to come home from class and see him, even though he was fast asleep on the couch! We went and saw When In Rome..not as great as we thought it would be. It is good, don't get me wrong, but it is more of a movie you rent and watch at home on the weekend. Since it was freezing outside and we hadn't had much alone time we decided to go home and cook dinner and just spend quality time together. As I was in the other room doing laundry, my hubby surprised me with a romantic little set up. He quietly lit candles, poured wine, turned off all the lights, and turned on our favorite song, Stay With You by John Legend. Ooooh it was amazing, we danced and he sang to me. I was so happy I was in tears. He always knows the right time to do little things to let me know that he loves me and he couldn't live without me.

After making a wonderful dinner together we just relaxed and caught up on everything. When we woke up in the morning we got a wonderful surprise...SNOW! Being from souther Cali we NEVER see snow. I've only been in snow once, so this was an exciting experience. I still can't believe how much it snowed here! We had so much fun throwing snowballs and getting all the ice off the hubbies truck so he could go to work. I looked like an eskimo with all the layers of clothes I had on. Our puppy Cali did not like the snow at all, she was shivering and her poor little paws kept slipping on the ice. Hopefully this doesn't last too long, because one day of snow is enough for me!!

You're In my prayers Grandpa..

Living on opposite sides of the country during hard family times is seriously very frustrating. My grandfather's heart is currently not doing so well. Since the age of 40 he's had two heart attacks, and has lived longer than any doctor ever expected him to live. He has a heart pacer attatched to him, and has had to change his way of living just to compensate for having a weak heart. A few weeks ago his heart rate was way above what his resting heart rate should be so my Grandmother rushed him to the hospital. They had to shock his heart five times to get it back on track, but it still would not beat correctly. He was then life flighted to a hospital in San Diego, where his heart pacer was installed, in hopes that his dr.'s would be able to fix the problem. They basically said that there was nothing they can do, and sent him home. After he was sent home, and I heard he was okay, I felt so relieved. I even called and had a long chat with him and he sounded just like the Grandpa Tom we all know and love. But today I got a call from my mom saying he is headed back to the hospital. I hate that I cannot be there to support my family. All I can do is hope and pray that he will be alright, and that he'll be strong enough to make it through. I wish so much that I could just get in my car and drive over there. I hope my grandfather and my family both know that I would do anything to be there with them and support them during this scary/stressful time.

Success!

My romantic dinner did not turn out exactly how I had intended it too, but it was still close to perfect. It was  awesome to surprise my hubby and show him how much I appreciate and love him. I started baking the velvet cake balls around 3p.m. One of the funnest deserts I've ever baked! Not only was it messy, it was hands on and so easy to make! They turned out amazing and I will be making them more often! My hubby usually won't get home till around 1 a.m. from work, so I started cooking at about 11 p.m. I had finished everything when he calls me at 1 and says he won't be home for a long time. So I kept all the food in the oven, noooot a good idea! I ended up setting off the fire alarm at 2 a.m. and it would NOT turn off. I would like to apologize to my neighbors, I did not mean to wake you up..false alarm!! The kabobs turned out to be so delicious, and the shrimp wrapped in bacon was pure bliss! It was fun learning new things to make and I am going to try to encorporate more new recipes into my meals!
Robert finally arrived home at 3:30 AM!! I was exhaaaused! I shook off the exhaustion, and opened the door with a huge smile! He knew something was up because it was quite and Cali Jean was not out running around. I took his hand and led him to the kitchen. Candles, yummy food, wine...it was perfect! He was so surprised and could not believe I actually cooked the food! We enjoyed a wonderful night morning together, enjoying the food and each others company. It was so romantic, and I'm glad it turned out the way it did. It was worth all the hard work in the kitchen, and gave me a reason to dress up in a gorgeous dress!
Chocolate dipped strawberries and velvet dipped balls for breakfast..mmm,mmm,mmm!
The set up...
